ID card: 

The student ID card functions as a proof of identity and verification while providing access to university facilities including the library, laboratories, and dining room. The Main Office of Student Registration (Oficina Central de Registro Estudiantil, OCRE) is in charge of the ID card providing service. 

1. Official university ID card: Serves as proof of student status of University of Los Andes.

2. Access to libraries: Used to enter campus libraries, check out library books, and borrow material at library reading rooms.

3. Access to campus facilities: Provides access to computer lounges, reading rooms, and laboratories.

5. Access to the dining room service: Used as a check card for the free dining room service after being preloading with usage quotas. 

 

Freshmen can have an ID card after 8 days of classes with no cost. It is necessary to hand a record of the enrolled subjects signed by the Office of Student Registration of the Faculty and the ID card at the Central Office of Student Registration. Health:

CAMIULA (in Spanish, Centro Ambulatorio Médico Integral de la ULA) is a welfare organization that provides students with health and medical care services. Services provided include health care and specialized medical treatments in gastroenterology, cardiology, urology, traumatology and pediatrics.

Who can use the University Health Service Center?

1. CAMIULA is open to all members; membership is given immediately after the registration at the center.

2. Students must show their student ID cards to use the Center.

3. Members are entitled to use the health and medical care services explained above, which are offered by the Center for free.

Housing:

The University housing is one of the several services that the University of Los Andes provides to its undergraduate students in order to help them reach the academic success. ULA’s housing services accommodate regular undergraduate students from different regions of the country and empower them to reach their full potential.

ULA’s housing services are free of charge and only ULA’s high-academic performance undergraduate students can benefit from this service. The process of selection is channeled through the Unit of Student Services (in Spanish, Dirección de Asuntos Estudiantiles, D.A.E.S). Dormitories are assigned according to the availability of rooms, to the students' academic performance and basic residence needing.

The main campus in Mérida has 3 off-site dormitory complexes:

Dormitory complex “Domingo Salazar Rojas”

Dinning:

The University of Los Andes has 3 dining rooms in the Merida campus, each one of them supervised by qualified dietitians. At the La Liria complex, we can find the newest and most active one of the dining rooms since it has a convenient positioning for students from different faculties.

The ULA’s dining service looks for deliver proper meals within a balanced diet to all the undergraduate students of the University. The ID card is used as a check pass once is being charged with usage quotas. The ULA’s dining room service IS FREE of charge and the only requirement is to be an enrolled student from any of its faculties.

The Merida campus dining rooms are located in “Los Chorros de Milla” complex, “La Hechicera” complex and La Liria complex, where our Faculty of Humanities and Education is located. The open hours go from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm for the lunch service and 4:30 pm to 6 pm for the dinner service.
